Microsoft elimina el buscador Bing de App Store.
Microsoft ha eliminado su aplicación Bing de App Store en todo el mundo, excepto Estados Unidos.
Debido a un error, Microsoft puso a disposición de la comunidad mundial de usuarios de iPhone su buscador Bing mediante App Store. En un comunicado, la empresa explica que para su lanzamiento, la aplicación Bing para iPhone se puso a disposición de todos los mercados donde App Store está disponible. Agrega que esa no era la intención y que dentro de las 24 horas siguientes se suprimió tal disponibilidad en todos los países excepto Estados Unidos.
Bing-app fue inicialmente lanzada en diciembre de 2009, y desde entonces ha estado disponible en una serie de países. Por lo tanto, llama la atención que Microsoft afirme haber actuado dentro de 24 horas.
Según diversas fuentes, como Intomobile.com, la versión europea era considerablemente inferior en desempeño a la versión estadounidense. A modo de ejemplo se menciona la falta de Visual Search, función de búsqueda de imágenes.
Microsoft anuncia que tiene intenciones de lanzar Bing para iPhone fuera de Estados Unidos, aunque no proporciona una fecha aproximada.
