Mozilla deja de mantener el Firefox 3.0.
La versión estable más avanzada del navegador es la 3.6
Mozilla va a publicar la última actualización para el navegador Firefox 3.0 a finales de mes. No habrá más.
Firefox 3.0 nació en junio de 2008 y ha tenido desde entonces 18 actualizaciones. Una dedicación inédita porque Mozilla acostumbra a terminar el mantenimiento de una versión seis meses después de la salida de la siguiente. Firefox 3.5 fue lanzado en junio de 2009.
Generation-nt explica que, para acelerar la adopción por parte de los internautas de la versión más moderna del navegador, Mozilla ha decidido abrir una ventana de notificación para los usuarios de las versiones anteriores a la 3.6, la última del navegador. Mozilla ya trabaja en una nueva versión que, entre otras ventajas, presentará la gestión de multiprocesos.
La actualización de los navegadores es una preocupación de los creadores de los mismos, porque las nuevas versiones ya incorporan la solución a fallos o agujeros detectados en las anteriores y, por tanto, ofrecen una navegación más segura, pero los internautas no actualizan con la misma rapidez su navegador
